Crash after standby (closed cover)

Apple does not publish official statements about fixing any software issues and their timeline. Only once they have resolved those problems, you might see some information about that.

This is a user to user forum only, and we have no insight about things at Apple.

However, if you contact Apple Support directly, you might be able to get some answers, just like the user from the above did.

Until Apple comes up with an update, did you try those solutions that worked for some of the users in that other forum?

That also worked for me. I have a Late 2013 15" MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15.4 Catalina. The crashes when waking from sleep started after that latest update. Checking the box "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" and also unchecking "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" has solved the crashing problem for me. I've never had "Enable Power Nap" turned on, so this wasn't the issue for me, unlike some other users.

Had a similar issue during hibernation when the computer would wake from sleep, but it would restart instead. The kernel panics started to pop up so I talked to Apple Support on the phone. AFter some troubleshooting myself, I’ve narrowed down the issue to the Intel UHD integrated GPU was causing the issue, therefore I called Apple Support. The lady on the phone told me that she was a “senior” in her position and told me that it couldn’t be the logic board that’s causing the issue.

No help.

Dropped it off at a Micro Center and received my MacBook Pro back today after an incredible turnaround time and Apple replaced both the Logic Board and the Touch ID Board per work order. If you have these hibernation related panics, ship that sucker in.

Starting in Safe Mode will enable the Mac to test itself and check for errors.

It is also possible to check the hard drive for errors, using the Apple maintenance program.

After the restart the Mac and start using it as usual.

Den Start im gesicherten Modus braucht man nur, wenn sich der Mac selbst auf Probleme untersuchen soll, und man mit dem Festplattendienstprogramm das Speichermedium auf Fehler untersuchen will.

Danach kann man wieder normal starten.

how fare away from you is the next apple store ?! So I see it correctly you’ve got warranty on your machine and if it’s were me I will go ASAP to the store and I’m sure they can helps you to fix the issues on your MacBook.

it is electronic and so it can be faulty for no any reasons. It is so.

Millions of other people’s use it like you use your MacBook. And other people who use it like u doesn’t have any problems , with it like you have. So it it not the “**** machine” of company apple, and apple is not response for all the thinks where happens within there special devices.

but you’re right , it sucks a lot if you have such problems with it.

if u go to the store or u get someone on the phone or email, the service technician are not the maker of problems! They have all the problems to solve. And it is the hardest to discuss the issues with angry and negative clients.

so be cool and try to explain it coolest you can.

i think it will be easier. The people by apple or any other company try hard to do her jobs every day, like u an me.

Sorry, but posting your crash reports in these forums will get you nowhere, as Apple does not follow these discussions.

In most of the cases Apple will not contact you personally, after you sent crash reports.

I've had the same issue dating back to early May 2020. It happens while plugged into power or not plugged in, it still reboots after sleep mode. Ive contacted apple support and spent 3 separate days troubleshooting (3 calls) Completely removing all programs that were not apple, reloading the OS and then deleting everything to run as a new computer. Still had the same problem. They told me it was a software issue and they are working on an update. There has recently been 2 updates since then and has not resolved the issue. Very upset with the situation and thinking I may have a lemon. Computer was purchased in January 2020 and now June 2020 still under warranty and having problem with no resolution. Not happy.
