How to import an already migrated photo library into Photos?

After the migration Photos will change the filename extension of the iPhoto Library from .photolibrary to .migratedphotolibrary. To be able to open the iPhoto Library again iPhoto open the Info for the library with ⌘i in the Finder change the name back from "iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary" to "iPhoto Library.photolibrary" and you can open the iPhoto Library again in iPhoto.

Nochmal auf Deutsch für die deutschsprachigen Mitglieder hier:

Fotos erkennt am Suffix ".migratedphotolibrary", dass die Mediathek schon einmal von Fotos geöffnet worden ist.

Versuche folgendes:

• Wähle die iPhoto Library im Finder aus und öffne die Info mit der Tastenkombination ⌘i
• Dann gehe in der Info auf das Feld "Name und Suffix" und ändere den Suffix von ".migratedphotolibrary" zurück auf ".photolibrary", so dass die Mediathek wieder "iPhoto Library.photolibrary" heisst.
• Danach ziehe die neu benannte iPhoto Mediathek auf die Photos.app im Dock.
