I am new to the Apple community and MACBOOK and have to say the transition is not easy and everything seems illogical.. I want to edit a jpg .. not anything complex.. just borders and things similar to MS Paint. What can I use as i only get PREVIEW when I double click a file....

Ich rate dir davon ab, zu diesem Zweck irgendwelche "kostenlose" Apps aus zweifelhafter Quelle zu installieren.
Das schafft auf dem Mac meist ziemliche Probleme.
Wenn du etwas weiter einsteigen willst, schau mal nach GIMP, das ist OpenSource-Software, die vor allem in Hobby-Fotografenkreisen weite Verbreitung gefunden hat (https://www.gimp24.de).

Thanks will try as when i open the Photo App it is really not user friendly to browse for a pic. Why is everything so complicated? So far I cannot say i am enjoying using the Mac.. :(:( severely dissappointed with it.
I'm working since 1986 on Macs and never encountered any severe problems.
Sure - lots of things work completely different from Windows - but that's the way it is.
If you purchased your Mac not longer ago than two weeks I suggest you bring it back and switch back to Windows.
It seems that Photos only allows advanced editing of Photos like filters, retouching, white balance etc so not what i was looking for. I just want to simply include text and cut out parts of a pic .. is it such rocket science?

If „lol“ is your answer to dealing with problems you better turn your back on Apple products and run back to your beloved Windows machines and Paint app....thats no rocket science for sure...
