Wifi roaming with macOS Monterey

According to this article (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212586), macOS Monterey allegedly finally implements Wifi roaming according to 802.11r, 802.11k, and 802.11v Wi-Fi roaming standards.

However, at least in conjunction with a Netgear Orbi LBR20 and RBR50 satellite, the roaming behaviour is just as stubborn as it used to be under Big Sur, meaning that just as explained in this other article (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206207), the client sticks to one access point of above -75dBm RSSI even if a way better one is available right next to it.

Besides that questionable and random decision to use that value alone, it doesn't make any sense not to have any option to change that but also why Apple doesn't trigger a background search for access points at least once an hour if it is about to prevent constant flapping between two APs in certain conditions is beyond me.

Furthermore frustrating is that the CLI method of changing some modes with the airport tool such as "airport prefs joinmode=strongest" doesn't seem to have any effect on this retarded behaviour whatsover.

Hence my request: Apple, can you please fix this or give the user at least give the option to change that standard setting to more reasonable ones just like one can do with the crappiest Windows notebook and Intel chipset?

Thanks!

Regards
