Swiss Mobile ID with iPhone 13 Pro

Hi,

did anyone else have problems with the swiss "Mobile ID" on iPhone 13 Pro?


When I put my SIM-card into a generic Nokia phone or in an iPhone 11 Pro Max, it is working.

But when I put the SIM-card into the current iPhone 13 Pro, it does not work properly.

Sometimes it works, but I get 5-6 messages, that I have to confirm and sometimes it simply doesn't work at all.


(Definition "Mobile ID":

based on text message technology, you can have an ID confirmation service on your phone. Lots of official administrations use it, as well as Swisscom and sunrise, two main cellphone carriers in Switzerland.)

I chattet with Apple Support.

It turns out, it is the "Screen time" Settings, that prevent the "Mobile ID"-App from working.

The program for Mobile ID is stored on the SIM-card and is run by the phone then from the sim-card.

So the screentime-protection is blocking the program from being run.

This is probably due to high security protection on iPhone 13.


On iPhone 11 it worked with the same settings, so the protection on iPhone 13 is probably stronger.

I got the same error and phoned some times with swisscom. I have an iPhone 13 Pro with a physical and an eSim. For both I need the mobileID. First I tought, that mobileID with eSim only works with the App. But if you activate it corretly on mobileid.ch it works fine. So the problem has to be something with the physical SIM-card. In an older device the mobileId works as it should.


Swisscom ask me to check the version of the SIM-Card (it was 2.1). Maybe the new security of the iPhone13 only goes with the new SIM-card-version 3.0 - I give it a try, else if give up
