Apple mini M1 with two studio displays

I use a apple mini M1, series No. C07H71U4Q6P0 , bought directly at the apple store in 2022, Software status: Ventura 13.2.

The mini is connected to a 10 year old Apple thunderbolt display (2560 x 1440) which is connected with the thunderbolt connector an a adapter ( apple ) to one of the USB-c outlets of the mini. This configuration works well.

I have now bought a apple studio display to be used as second display.

I works well if it is connected to the USB-c outlet, the old display must be disconnected though.

If I connect the second display to the second USB-c outlet it remains black. If I disconnect the old display the new one starts to work.

I have also tried to use the HDMI outlet and connected it to my new display without success, it is not connected.

Can you give me a hint ? I have a valid Applecare+

Hi Dieter,

Den Technischen Daten deines Mac Minis kannst du entnehmen, was du zur selben Zeit ansteuern kannst. Folgendes Setup kannst du nutzen, um den Dual Monitor betrieb zu erhalten:

Ein Display mit einer Auflösung von bis zu 6K bei 60 Hz über Thunderbolt und ein Display mit einer Auflösung von bis zu 4K bei 60 Hz über HDMI

Hallo Tobias,

vielen Dank für die schnelle Hilfe. Das Problem ist nur dass ich mit dem HDMI Ausgang weder das neue Display ( mit HDMI-USBc Adapterkabel ) noch das alte Display mit entsprechendem Adapter zum Laufen bringe. Auch nicht wenn ich sie einzeln anschliesse. Beide Displays funktionieren nur einzeln mit einem USBc Ausgang.

Das kann natürlich am Adapter liegen. Gibt es dazu bestimmte Voraussetzungen?
