user self-service for deletion of old analytics data on iPhone 14 iOS 18.3.1
@ Apple Engineering
Implement a user-self service for deletion of old analytics data. The actual functionality implemention is violating user's data privacy. As a Swiss user and with respect to nFADP, I have the right to enforce fulfilment of permanently deletion of telemetry data on the personal smartphone.
On iPhone 14' analytics data, I see content from 2023, 2024, 2025. Quite a few entries are from already deleted apps. The analytics data however got never deleted.
What I've done so far:
Option 1: Share iPhone Analytics: No, it does not help. I've gotten upset enough. All data kraken options are turned off, including Siri.
Option 2: Sync with iTunes on Windows 11 laptop to clear analytics data: The sync (steps 1-5 including backup) works, but the existing entries in analytics data were not deleted. Reboot didn't help.
Option 3: Full backup iPhone, full wipe of iPhone (-> Erase All Content and Settings), recover from backup: Right after the full wipe there are no analytics data entries anymore, but after recover from full backup on the same iPhone, all the old analytics data are back. Btw. "Full" is not full. An eSim wasn't recovered, banking apps do not work anymore and have to be recovered by banking recovery procedures.
Option 4: Reset Location & Privacy Settings: This recipe didn't work either. The old analytics data weren't deleted. Reboot didn't help.
This is the second time I ask this question. The first time the question has been deleted without answering about nFADP and how Apple helps to be compliant.
