Cannot download apps after updating to iOS 26 – payment verification loop

Hello, Guys!

After installing the official public release of iOS 26 (September 15, 2025), I can no longer download any apps from the App Store. Every time I try, I get the message “Verification Required. Tap Continue and sign in to view payment information.”

I added a new credit card, and my bank confirms that the verification was successful. The App Store window closes as if everything is fine, but then the same message appears again. This loop prevents me from downloading any apps, even free ones.

Steps I tried so far:

Added and re-added my payment method.

Confirmed with my bank that the card was verified successfully.

Restarted the device.

None of these solved the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on the iOS 26 public release? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

This payment verification loop after updating to iOS 26 is a known issue affecting some users. To try fixing it, sign out of your Apple ID in Settings, restart your device, then sign back in. Also, check that your payment information is up to date in Settings > [your name] > Payment & Shipping. If the problem continues, removing and re-adding your payment method might help. If none of this works, contacting Apple Support is the best next step, as it could be a server-side issue on their end.
