iCloud-Link for Photos-App

Hi all,

i have enabled syncing of all pictures and videos from the photos app in settings and i can also see on mac or in browser that the pictures and videos are uploaded.

I sort my pictures in "normal" so not "shared" albums.

If I now want to send a friend the link to an album, so that he has immediate access to all the pictures in good quality, there is the following problem: When you open the link, you get the message that all the pictures contained in the album still have to be uploaded and that you should therefore come back later when the upload is finished.

This is very frustrating, after all I pay a lot of money for iCloud every month and then not even a link to an album works?!

Can anyone help out with this? I would be very helped (:

How are you sharing the iCloud Link on your Mac?

When I select the photos in an album in Photos for Mac to share them, the mac does not offer to share an iCloud Link. The only options are "Shared Album", and a few more, but not "iCloud Link".

Only my iPhone and iPad offer to copy an iCloud link to selected photos in Photos, and that link is available immediately.

If you have been using "Shared Album" on your Mac, when you tried to share the photos from an album, it would explain why you have to wait, because Photos will have to render and copy optimized versions to the new shared album.
