Using AirPods Pro 3 with older macOS versions?
Dear Community,
I understand the *OS 26 era of operating systems is required to successfully pair with AirPods Pro 3. According to the User Manual:
After you set up your AirPods with one Apple device (like your iPhone), your AirPods connect automatically to your other Apple devices where you’re signed in to the same Apple Account.
Can you elaborate on this? Will a previous macOS version be able to make use of the AirPods Pro 3? I use Macs running Sonoma, Ventura and Sequoia (latest versions, all in my Apple Account), that will not receive updates to macOS 26. Given a pair of AirPods Pro 3 paired properly with an iPhone running iOS 26:
- Will I be able to listen to audio on the AirPods and/or use the AirPods as a headset for online meetings on these Macs?
- If so, would switching between audio sources be a seamless experience?
- Will ANC functionality be available when the AirPods are used on the Macs?
Thank you and best regards,
Kay
