Persistent Catalina Issues
I updated to Catalina in February/March, and since then I've had a bunch of issues with my Mac, most persistently in the past few days.
To begin with, I've had sleep-wake failures 3 times now. I set my laptop aside for a little bit and when I got to wake it it doesn't work. I've had to force shut down a couple of times and re-boot it in order for it to work. When I do this, I also have to press the power button for an abnormal amount of time.
Yesterday and today when I rebooted the laptop, it took an abnormal amount of time for it to power up and function. My files don't show up on my desktop, the wifi turns up empty, my apps don't open and it freezes for at least 15 minutes. Persistent beach-ball. To top it off, just now when I booted it the date and time went back to 2018 for some reason, and I had to unlock the date & time for it to show up again (I realized this issue because I couldn't open Google or any other site).
I'm very stressed about it, given that in the current situation I have to attend online classes and hand in assignments and I really need my laptop to be reliable. This might be related, or not, but my laptop has started showing the "Service Battery" warning. I chose not to panic because I checked my cycle count and I'm at 923 out of a maximum of 1000, so I chose to think it was preemptively warning me I would need to check my battery.
Please, any sort of solution to this issue would be greatly appreciated. I know a lot of people have had issues with the sleep-wake thing. Thanks.
