Can't upgrade new iPod Touch to iOS 15

I just bought a new iPod (the day before they announced their discontinuation :). I then downloaded iTunes onto my PC. When I connect the iPod (using the cable that came with it, and into a direct USB port of my computer), it says an update is ready: iOS15. Yippee!

But every time I try to update, I get an error message: 4000 unknown error.

Has anybody else succeeded in updating iOS?

First make sure that your windows pc and iTunes are updated reboot the pc and try again

If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support
